Milton Keynes Bowl Circuit Race 3 May 2011
This seasons opening non- points race was well attended by approx 50 riders from all categories and the organisers decided to make 2 races AB and CDEFG with the first half of the race around the main Bowl circuit and the second half of the race going through the main gates onto the adjoining circuit in the next field making a more technical and demanding circuit.
AB Race (50 mins and 5 laps)
From the start the new Virgin Active team showed their presence and a group of and Jim Moffatt (C category riding as A), Aaron McAffertey, Steve Ferris and Ian Holmes got together and prised their way off the front of the bunch who in turn split into two groups, these 4 worked as a well drilled working quartet and comfortably lapped the field as they came into the finish McAfferty worked hard to get around the hardworking Moffatt.

CDEFG Race (40 mins and 5 laps)
A brisk starting race involved many early skirmishes, until Martin Hackley – Team Jewson/MI Racing put in a hard turn up to the finish and quickly disappeared from the bunch he was later joined by Joe Quill - Corley Cycles and these two then set about the hard work of staying away. Both worked well together and at the finish were half a lap up on the main bunch, on the run in the sprint was taken by Hackley, and Pete Trotman – Daventry CC took the bunch sprint for 3rd place with arms held high unaware of the escapees.
